Exposure to lead and copper may cause serious public health problems ranging from stomach distress to brain damage. Since 1991, EPA has imposed specific regulations to control lead and copper in drinking water, including requirements that public drinking water systems have to take action if there are exceedances of concentrations of either metal. In the wake of the lead in drinking water crisis in Flint, Michigan, in late 2019, EPA proposed revisions to the LRC regulations. The proposed revisions including changes to lead tap sampling; corrosion control treatment; lead service line replacement; consumer awareness; and public education.

This EBC Water Resources webinar will review the LCR and the proposed revisions, which could be issued as final very soon.  The presentations and moderated discussion will focus on the risks presented by lead in drinking water and will help public water suppliers, communities and consultants be better prepared to comply with the new regulations.
