Internships at EBC

EBC accepts interns for the fall and spring semesters and occasionally for summer positions. Before applying for the position, please be familiar with EBC’s mission and business.

Summer 2024 Internship

The Environmental Business Council of New England is seeking a summer Intern to assist in the publication of EBC’s podcast and manage EBC’s Career Center webpage and mailing list. Undergraduate students, especially first and second year students, are encouraged to apply. Interns are expected to commit 8-12 hours per week from May through August. $15.00 hourly wage. The position is fully remote with the option for the Intern to work at the office if desired.


The Summer 2024 Intern will focus on two main projects: the successful publication of EBC’s podcast, Energy Environment Economy, and maintaining an active Career Center webpage and mailing list.

Podcast responsibilities include providing the host with detailed background information on interviewees and writing draft outlines, intros, outros, and episode notes. Career Center responsibilities include maintaining an active webpage through sourcing and posting job opportunities and creating and sending monthly Job Roundup emails.

In addition, the Intern will assist with office and administrative work, including data entry, database maintenance, and website maintenance. They may also be responsible for various business or nonprofit management projects, and gain valuable exposure to the environmental industry through offsite EBC programs, as well as to nonprofit operations in general.

The job description is broad and applicants should be prepared to handle multiple tasks at once. The individual should be proactive, outgoing, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office. Applicants should have excellent communication skills.


  • Current enrollment in a higher education degree program – 2- or 4-year college or university
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to operate online databases
  • Exceptional organizational skills, careful attention to detail
  • Ability to function independently
  • No prior podcasting experience required, just a willingness to learn
