Worcester Business Journal Names Matthew Abraham a 40 Under Forty

Recognition for professional accomplishments & community contributions

Westfield, Massachusetts – September 16, 2016 – The Worcester Business Journal recently named Matthew Abraham, a Project Manager at Tighe & Bond, a 2016 40 Under Forty leader in Central Massachusetts. The awards ceremony for the 40 Under Forty winners took place on September 14 at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

Abraham, who has worked out of Tighe & Bond’s Worcester office for more than 12 years, was one of 40 winners selected from a highly competitive applicant pool. The award recognizes exceptional leadership both on the job and within the community.

Abraham has managed multiple environmental site assessment and remediation efforts throughout Worcester County and Central Massachusetts. His focus is to revitalize abandoned and unutilized properties, and transform them into thriving places. He also has coordinated and managed 24-hour emergency response services for Massachusetts utility companies to clean up hazardous material releases associated with a tornado, ice storm and Superstorm Sandy. He is also an active member of the Licensed Site Professional Association (LSPA), and a member of the LSPA Young Professionals Committee.

For more than six years, Abraham has been on a mission with the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) bike-a-thon to help raise money for the Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber. The PMC is a 192-mile bike-a-thon from Sturbridge to Provincetown to raise funds for life-saving cancer research and treatment. Through his pedaling efforts and fund raising, he has helped Tighe & Bond raise close to $175,000 to help support the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

A resident of Grafton, Massachusetts, Abraham earned his Bachelor of Arts and an MBA from Assumption College. An active alumnus, he participates in the college’s annual career nights, sharing resources and ideas with pending graduates.
