The Rhode Island Flood Mitigation Association (RIFMA) is thrilled to announce that in addition to a stellar line-up of local practitioners, the 2019 conference- “What Works? Implementing Lessons Learned”– will feature the following guest speakers:
- Lucy Stoll & David Imburgia, City of Hampton, VA, will share the City’s process and efforts in bolstering their community’s inherent strengths to alleviate chronic stresses and enable recovery from extreme events and shocks. “Resilient Hampton” is making the community even stronger than before by improving economic viability, environmental health, and residents’ quality of life.
- Jeff Diehl, Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, will discuss some of the funding strategies and mechanisms available for the critical flood mitigation work we do.
- Molly Kaput & Bob Desaulniers, FEMA, will provide national updates, including important new information on substantial damage.
- Melinda Hopkins & Joe Dwyer, RIEMA, will share the latest happenings and priority issues at the state level.
