It’s that time of year again! Get ready for the annual RIFMA meeting and conference on Thu, May 12, 2022 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Our 2022 theme is “Media, Flooding, and Public Perspectives on Flood Risk”.

RIFMA is honored to receive John A. Miller, PE, CFM, CSM as our Keynote Speaker!

John is a Mitigation Liaison to the State of New Jersey, FEMA, a member of the FEMA Integration Team, embedded with the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management to be a risk adaptation resource to the State and enhance coordination between the agencies. Additionally, John is a former chair and co-founder of the New Jersey Association for Floodplain Management, a chapter of the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), and was the Legislative Committee Chair from 2007 to 2018. He served on the ASFPM board from 2006 to 2009.

This year RIFMA has set aside time for a limited number of 5-7 minute Lightning Talks. If you have a project or program that you would like to highlight for your fellow RIFMA members, please submit a request here. Submit your proposals ASAP!

We will notify presenters by April 15, 2022.

2022-2024 Board Members

As always, RIFMA Board meetings are open to all RIFMA members. However, if you are interested in joining RIFMA and helping us grow post-COVID, please nominate yourself or someone you know to the RIFMA Board! Nominees need only to submit a short bio here.

Nominees will be voted on by all RIFMA members present at the annual conference.

Bylaws Changes

Speaking of the RIFMA Board, we are ready to grow! The Board of RIFMA submits to the RIFMA members a change in the bylaws, expanding the RIFMA Board from 11 to 13 people. This amendment will be voted on by all RIFMA members present at the annual conference. Please see the attachment to review changes to the bylaws.
