Debert, NS – After 14 years of flying out of New Brunswick, remote sensing company, Leading Edge Geomatics, has relocated its aircraft hangar and flight operations business, Leading Edge Enterprises, to the town of Debert, Nova Scotia.
Based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Leading Edge Geomatics owns and operates its fleet of aircraft, collecting LiDAR data for clients to better manage their assets. Providing end-to-end aerial LiDAR surveying services, complete with unique data processing capabilities, Leading Edge Geomatics offers strategic solutions to the forestry, utility, bathymetric and various other sectors.
The rise of the COVID-19 pandemic caused unprecedented and challenging times within the geomatics industry, but rather than seeing this as a threat to its bottom-line, Leading Edge Geomatics recognized the opportunity to support its plans of long-term business growth.
“We are constantly exploring new avenues to improve our business operations. The plan to move to the new hangar location was necessary to accommodate our growth,” mentions Charles Miller, CEO and President of Leading Edge Geomatics. “When the opportunity of relocating our aircraft hangar and near the largest International Airport in Atlantic Canada was presented to us, it was hard to pass on. As we begin to see the industry recover, it is becoming clearer that this was the right decision for our company.”
Leading Edge Enterprises now occupies over 8,500 square footage of hangar space and nearly 1,000 square footage of office space to accommodate the daily flight operations of the business.
