Watertown, Massachusetts – VHB/Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. announces that John Vieira, Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), recently joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager in the environmental group. Working out of the firm?s Worcester, Mass. office, Mr. Vieira will help to build upon VHB’s growing energy and utility practice throughout the Northeast.
Mr. Vieira brings more than 28 years of experience to his new role at VHB. He has served a variety of energy clients in the electric transmission, gas transmission, conventional power generation, and the renewable power industries providing a broad range of services including facility siting, planning, permitting, and compliance inspection services. Additionally, John has strong technical knowledge in wetland delineation and functional assessment, wildlife habitat evaluation, rare species surveys, vegetation community mapping, vernal pool identification, and reptile and amphibian ecology.

Currently, Mr. Vieira is serving as project manager on two of VHB?s National Grid projects – the Z126 115kv Transmission project (Millbury and Auburn, Mass.) and the A127/B128 Reconductoring project (Millbury, Auburn, Leicester, and Worcester, Mass.).
Mr. Vieira holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Association of Massachusetts Wetland Scientists.
