The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) announces final Greenhouse Gas (GHG) amendments to regulations 310 CMR 7.00: Appendix B and 310 CMR 7.29. These amendments include the adoption of GHG Credit and banking provisions, and provide details necessary to implement the offsets provision committed to in Massachusetts’ 2001 first-in-the-nation carbon dioxide regulations. Adoption of these regulations is an important step in the Commonwealth’s coordinated effort to reduce GHG emissions and address climate change.
The regulations were published in the Massachusetts Register and took effect on October 6, 2006.

MassDEP is preparing applications and instructions to enable project proponents to apply for GHG Credits, which will be available on the MassDEP website.
