Environmental Benefits and Impacts of Recovering Energy from Landfill Gas – Lisa Damiano and Stephen G. Zemba, Sanborn, Head & Associates
This presentation will discuss the history of LFGTE engines and continuing evolution of the technology. Both the GHG offsets and environmental concerns of LFGTE engines will be explored and compared to other alternative energy solutions.
Elevated Temperature Landfills – Recent Challenges Facing the Solid Waste Industry – Nicholas Yafrate and Scott Luettich, Geosyntec Consultants
This presentation will describe the challenges facing landfill operators at sites with elevated temperatures, as well as efforts being undertaken to detect, mitigate, and prevent elevated temperatures from occurring at existing and new landfills.
