Matt is a chemical oceanographer who focuses on anthropogenic pollutants and their fate in coastal and ocean waters. Focusing most of his attention on PFAS, Matt conducts fate and transport studies on large scale contamination concerns including import and export to remote Arctic regions, and estimation of mass flows from industry sites to ocean waters. In addition to extensive field work and fingerprinting PFAS studies, Matt also contributes to a broad range of emerging contaminant and non-PFAS pollution studies for RPS/Tetra Tech as a contaminant modeler. Most importantly though, Matt is an avid science communicator and journalist, working to publish for a variety of websites about the importance of PFAS and contamination research.
