Mr. Flaherty is a mechanical engineer with experience in design, construction and commissioning of building mechanical systems. He has worked in manufacturing facilities, water purification and wastewater treatment facilities, laboratories and remote electronics facilities. He is a licensed as a professional engineer in several states and a certified commissioning professional.

Michael Walsh is Vice President with CDM Smith, a global engineering and construction firm headquartered in Boston. Mike is an environmental engineer with over 30 years of experience in technical, project management, client service, and organizational management roles, including the management of large, highly complex projects both locally and overseas. In his current role, Mike provides technical and managerial oversight for water, water reclamation, and alternative project delivery projects throughout New England.

Mike is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in multiple states, a Chartered Engineer (CEng.) in the United Kingdom, a Board Certified Environmental Engineer of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) as designated by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure. He is active in several professional organizations, is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences, and has served as both guest and primary lecturer for several college-level engineering courses. He is also a Past President of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA), which represents over 120 engineering and land surveying companies in Massachusetts.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Northeastern University.

Located in EA’s Warwick, Rhode Island office, Ron serves as the manager for the company’s New England-based operations. An employee-owned, public benefit corporation, EA is a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services with 550 employees and offices nationwide. EA’s New England-based operations has a strong portfolio of federal and private industry clients and holds on-call contracts with numerous municipal and state agencies including the Rhode Island Departments of Administration and Environmental Management, Massachusetts Port Authority and Department of Fish and Game, and Connecticut Department of Administration. In his role as Operations Manager, Ron is responsible for financial, client, and personnel management; technical product quality; client satisfaction; and business development for EA’s New England client base.

A registered Professional Engineer in Rhode Island as well as Ohio and New York, Ron has over 15 years of environmental engineering and management experience. Throughout his career, Ron has focused on site characterization and remediation programs, stormwater design and permitting, and air quality compliance for public and private sector clients. He has worked extensively on environmental investigations and engineering design projects including urban renewal projects and brownfields redevelopment. Ron earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Roger Williams University.
