Conover + Company Communications Adds Team Members To Serve Energy, Environmental and Green Markets

(Boston, MA) Conover + Company Communications announces expanded resources to support its growing practice for energy, environmental, and green technology-focused companies, organizations, and initiatives.

New associates with Conover are Lydia Pastuszek, Mary Harman and Rolf Fuessler, APR, who bring executive level experience in marketing, corporate communications, public relations, human resources, and customer service to the team.  The three executives at various times have worked for leading energy, environmental, and technology companies in New England and around the country.

Team members – including Heather Conover, CEO of Conover + Company – have been on the front lines with management and employees; the media; community leaders and residents; local, state, and federal officials; civic, business, and environmental leaders, and NGOs to advocate for private and governmental programs, siting projects, and emerging technology initiatives. According to Heather Conover: “the need for a highly experienced and targeted team to help companies market and communicate new energy initiatives, sustainability efforts, emerging and maturing green technologies, and environmental solutions has greatly increased in recent years. Our new team members provide us with the depth and breadth of experience to meet the growing demand that organizations have for seasoned counsel and creative programs.”

Lydia Pastuszek, while at New England Electric System (now National Grid), developed the utility’s first energy conservation programs.  Pastuszek also ran the firm’s hydroelectric division during relicensing, headed product development, led customer service, worked on siting the New Hampshire portion of the New England-Hydro Quebec Interconnection during the 1980s, and was senior VP of human resources for 8,000 employees. She also brings experience with higher education marketing and with property management and affordable housing siting and management to the group.

Mary Harman was Director of Communications for the New England Electric System (now National Grid) and has provided communications services to all sectors of the electric utility industry since the mid-90s.  During her tenure, Harman was involved in executive media tours, speechwriting, community relations activities for some of the largest transmission projects in the US and on very complex hazardous waste cleanups, and worked on positioning and crisis communications issues for very large powerplants. Prior to her NEES position, she was VP of corporate communications for Montgomery Watson Harza, a global environmental engineering firm.

Rolf Fuessler is a former Engineering News Record editor and VP of corporate communications for Camp Dresser & McKee. Over the last 25 years he has consulted to both emerging and mature energy, engineering, construction, environmental and architectural firms on branding, positioning, public relations, marketing, and facilities siting projects.

Conover + Company Communications specializes in developing strategic communications solutions for energy, environment, real estate, and corporate clients.  For over 20 years, the firm has worked closely with private clients and governmental entities to develop easy-to-understand messages, stories and visuals to inform, educate, persuade, and motivate intended audiences.
