EBC Young Environmental Professionals Program: Climate Change Planning at the City Level – A Viewpoint from Somerville and Cambridge
May 5, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Please join the Environmental Business Council Young Professionals on May 5, 2016, for an evening discussion about sustainability at Aeronaut Brewery.
Where will you be in 2050? If you stay local, you’ll likely be living in a low-carbon city. What does a low-carbon future mean for businesses and residents?
The City of Cambridge and the City of Somerville have both committed to significant greenhouse gas reduction targets by 2050 and are actively pursuing those goals. Susanne Rasmussen, Director of Environmental and Transportation Planning for the City of Cambridge, and Oliver Sellers-Garcia, Director of Sustainability and Environment for the City of Somerville, will discuss their work to increase sustainability and decrease carbon footprints in their respective Cities. Come learn what Somerville and Cambridge are doing to grow their cities and transition to a cleaner economy. Ben Holmes, co-founder of Aeronaut, will provide opening remarks about why business, beer, and sustainability are approached holistically by Aeronaut’s founders and staff.
Drinks are available to order at the brewery and the discussion will occur adjacent to the tap room. Light snacks, prepared by Forklift Catering, are being sponsored by CDM Smith and Palmer Capital Corporation.
