EBC Wind Energy Development Breakfast: Blue H Proposal

April 24, 2008 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am EDT

Why the EBC chooses to hold programs at the Lenox Hotel

Raymond Dackerman, General Manager of Blue H USA, will present the innovative Blue H proposal for a floating deep water wind farm off the coast of Massachusetts.  Blue H, a subsidiary of a Dutch company, announced in early March 2008 that it plans to develop 120 floating wind turbines in deep water 23 miles off Martha’s Vineyard. Blue H USA, LLC has filed a Nomination For Lease with the US Minerals Management Service to install a demonstration wind energy structure 45 miles off New Bedford in 167 feet water depth. Modeled after deep-sea oil rigs, floating technology has never been applied to wind turbines in the deep ocean.  In December, Blue H launched the world’s first floating turbine, an 80-kilowatt demonstration project off the coast of southern Italy.
