EBC Wind Energy Committee Meeting
December 17, 2009 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Assessing wind resources and predicting the potential energy capacity produced by the wind is a fundamental component of any wind project. Options for measuring the wind have expanded as technology has evolved, and the regulatory framework and lending environments have changed. Which technology to choose may depend on site conditions, acceptable level of accuracy, and project financing arrangements. Pat Quinlan, Mike Wiltshire, and Tony Rogers will talk in a roundtable format about the primary technologies available – Met Tower, SODAR, LIDAR, and virtual Met Tower – and the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
Associate Director, Massachusetts Wind Energy Lab at UMASS-Amherst
Sale Associate, Second Wind, Inc.
Senior Engineer, DNV Global Energy Concepts
