EBC Sustainability Program Series, Part Three: Communicating Achievements – Sustainability Reporting
February 7, 2014 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Until recently, leading "green" companies published environmental reports. Environmental professionals within those corporations and in service companies supporting them have gained experience in contributing to such reports. Communications practices in this field are evolving rapidly, and the dedicated environmental report has become old fashioned. It is increasingly replaced by Sustainability or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Reporting, which integrates environmental disclosures with communication on social and environmental challenges and achievements.
This program will discuss the key steps involved in developing a successful Sustainability Report, and the skills that environmental professionals will want to acquire to be able to participate or lead such comprehensive reporting efforts. Recent developments covered will include the new G4 guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative and the evolving framework for Integrated Reporting.
The program is targeted at environmental and sustainability professionals, as well as corporate communications and investor relations experts. It will give an overview of the latest trends in the field, and provide the opportunity for experience exchange with practitioners in the field.
The first EBC program in the sustainability series (July 12) presented a "lay of the land" of the major topics included in leading corporate sustainability initiatives and how these fit into corporate strategy. The second program (September 20) focused on managing and monitoring corporate sustainability initiatives.
Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (3.5 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.
