EBC Solid Waste Program: Implications of Waste Ban Compliance with Third Party Inspections

February 6, 2014 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s solid waste regulatory reform package is scheduled to be promulgated in early 2014. A significant new requirement is for solid waste facilities to engage 3rd party inspectors to monitor for waste ban compliance (WBC). While this requirement will be new to many, it is actually an expansion of a program that started in 2008, beginning with inspections at waste-to-energy facilities in Massachusetts. This EBC Solid Waste Program will focus on issues regarding 3rd party waste ban compliance inspections and how your facility will be affected, MADEP’s requirements, the details of conducting WBC inspections, and finally a facility owner’s reflections on this new innovative DEP inspection approach.
Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (3.5 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.
