This EBC Solid Waste Management webinar will shed light on the economic, social, and technical tensions in the world of recycling.   How has the recycling infrastructure responded to market demand since China’s National Sword Policy?  Everyone focuses on diversion, but what is the full diversion potential in the waste that remains?  When not all plastic can “close the loop”, are pyrolysis and gasification the answer to making this material useful again?

This webinar will do a “dumpster dive” with experts on waste characterization, waste ban compliance, the overflow of plastic into our environment, and the ways in which environmental justice is affecting recycling. The discussion will also share the social injustice and inequities in solid waste management in some communities.  Anyone who cares about recycling should attend this webinar!

A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.

General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
