EBC Seminar Series: Running Your Business Successfully – Growing Your Business

March 12, 2007 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

You are invited to the third seminar of the EBC Seminar Series on Running Your Business Successfully. Many owners and leaders of professional services firms have strong technical skills. Yet as business people there is certainly a lot to learn. These seminars have been especially developed for owners, principals and executives of environmental and design companies. They are also open to upcoming leaders who want to learn more about the business. The series is moderated by Liz Levin, President of Liz Levin & Company.
In the first two seminars we looked at two of the important basics for running your business successfully.

  • Forecasting Environmental Industry Trends
  • Maximizing Board Effectiveness

The focus of this third program is on:

  • Managing Growth – Growing Your Environmental Business

This program on Growing Your Environmental Business will share the experiences that have been gained in starting and growing Charter Environmental, Inc. It was founded in 1997, with Bob as the sole employee in the spare bedroom of his home; today the Charter organization is comprised of three specialized firms employing over 120 people at four locations. Charter and its affiliates have synergetic expertise in Brownfields redevelopment, heavy civil & environmental contracting and logistics. Charter?s revenues have averaged in excess of $30M for the past six years. As Charter celebrates its ten-year anniversary, it is preparing for its next phase of growth, which will include increased revenues and expanded geographic coverage as well as incorporating additional core competencies within each of the firms. This discussion will touch on the key elements of successfully growing an environmental business in today?s market.
