EBC Seminar Series on Land-Based Wind Energy – Session 1 Projects, Pipelines and Early Siting Issues
Wind energy is one of the fastest growing energy systems in the world. In the United States, wind-powered generating capacity is growing at a rate of 25%-30% per year.

Following on the three EBC seminars on Off-Shore Wind, the EBC presents this new two part series that focuses on Land-Based Wind Energy in New England.  This first seminar will focus on actual projects and early siting issues.  The second seminar will focus in more detail on siting issues and project development, and is scheduled for May 29, 2008.

Session 1 – What are the prospects for wind energy in New England?  Is there a market for commercial-scale wind?  For distributed generation?  What projects have been permitted or are in the pipeline? What are the critical early steps to take when siting a wind energy facility in New England?  Key players in the New England wind industry will share their outlook and experience at the first of this two-part session.
