EBC Rhode Island Webinar: Stormwater Updates and COVID Monitoring in Wastewater
375 Harvard Street
This EBC Rhode Island webinar will provide a current snapshot of how stormwater is being managed in Rhode Island. The program includes speakers from the RI Department of Transportation (RIDOT), RI Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM), and the Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC). The presentations will include a general assessment of the quality of Rhode Island waters, the latest regulatory schedule for the reissuance of the RI MS4 general permit in 2021, a summary of the MSGP e-reporting requirements, impacts of nonpoint source pollution, and finally, an update on the progress with the deep rock tunnels in/around Providence.
The program will also include an update from Block Island WWTF superintendent Dylan Chase regarding Block Island’s testing for COVID-19 in wastewater and what it might mean for trending analysis. Until recently, Block Island has been the only town in Rhode Island that is testing wastewater streams for the presence of COVID-19. NBC’s Bucklin Point Facility is currently awaiting analytical results. Mr. Chase will present a summary of the Block Island testing program and results obtained to date.
A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
