This EBC Rhode Island webinar will take attendees from the past to present-day to explore the trajectory of environmental justice (EJ) regulations in Rhode Island.
The program will provide an overview of what environmental justice means in a broader, national context before diving into an in-depth history on the origins of EJ regulations in Rhode Island. Attendees will hear diverse perspectives reflecting on the impact of these early EJ regulations and policies within local neighborhoods disproportionately affected by environmental pollution. Finally, the program will turn to the present and discuss current regulatory and legislative EJ initiatives within the state – and what the future holds for EJ in Rhode Island.
A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
