Equity, justice, diversity and inclusion are critical to leading a successful environmental organization and effectively implementing projects and programs. There are many efforts and dialogs happening in Rhode Island; including development of an environmental justice policy at DEM, evaluating pending legislation, ensuring equity in activities and policies related to climate change, and supporting diversity and inclusion within RI DEM.
Ensuring fairness for both overburdened and underserved communities is a critical goal, and significant work is being done with the communities surrounding the Port of Providence. This EBC Rhode Island Webinar will present the efforts to date in these important areas.
