Climate change and its consequences are recognized by many as both a global issue and one that will significantly impact the state of Rhode Island. This EBC Rhode Island Climate Program will present two individuals from Rhode Island that have significant responsibility for the development and implementation of adaptation and resiliency programs in the state. The first speaker will be Shaun O’Rourke, who joined the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank in June 2017 as the Director of Stormwater Resiliency. Then, in September 2017, he was appointed to be the first Chief Resiliency Officer for the state. This position was established by Governor Gina Raimondo “…to drive climate resiliency efforts across the state in government and in collaboration with business, academic, and non-profit partners.”  The second speaker will be Jeffrey Diehl, the Executive Director and CEO of the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank. Established in 1989, the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank works collaboratively with public and private capital providers to develop and deploy solutions that support and finance investments in the State’s infrastructure and green energy initiatives.

General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.0 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.
