EBC Rhode Island Chapter Program: Update on Brownfields in Rhode Island
September 25, 2012 @ 7:30 am - 10:30 am
Despite the troubled real estate and financial markets, Brownfield projects and funding are moving ahead in Rhode Island. This EBC Rhode Island Chapter program will begin with panel presentations designed to provide an update on the state of Rhode Island’s Brownfields program and some recent regulatory and legislative changes. In addition, panelists will touch upon some of the more practical challenges to developing Brownfield sites. The program will then turn to a roundtable discussion about the future of the State’s Brownfields program. A representative from GrowSmart RI will talk about a vision for Brownfields in the coming years. Representatives from RIDEM and USEPA Region I will then discussion opportunities for future project funding. In addition, the roundtable will explore other potential incentives, financial and otherwise, for future Brownfield projects. Active participation in the discussion from the attendees will be encouraged throughout the morning.
