EBC Renewable Energy Committee Site Visit: Wind Technology Testing Center

The Wind Technology Testing Center, opened for business in May 2011, offers third-party testing of prototype wind turbine blades developed by manufacturers.  Wind turbine blade testing is a critical factor in maintaining high levels of reliability and evaluating the latest technological developments in airfoils and materials. Adequate testing will allow wind energy to be more competitive. In addition, blade testing is required as part of turbine certification to meet international design standards.  The EBC Renewable Energy Committee has been invited to tour this state-of-the-art facility which stands as a cornerstone of Massachusetts leadership position in the Clean Energy Economy.
