This EBC Professional Development webinar will feature Wetland Circuit Rider, Alicia Geilen, for a discussion of important regulatory changes coming to Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act (WPA) regulations will soon be revised in two important areas: establishing performance standards for work in the 100-year coastal floodplain, called Land Subject to Coastal Storm Flowage; and updating stormwater regulations and associated Stormwater Handbook, to align state stormwater standards with Massachusetts’ MS4 permit issued by EPA, as well as to better manage runoff from stronger storms associated with climate change. Both of these changes to the WPA regulations have long been anticipated, and will affect future development in Massachusetts. In addition to these regulatory updates, Ms. Geilen will share several best practices for reducing erosion and sedimentation caused by stormwater during construction.
A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
