Last year at the 1st Annual EBC Coastal Construction Program, attendees benefited from lessons learned on a variety of coastal construction projects and were able to take those lessons back to their offices to apply to ongoing projects. The attendees reported that those presentations provided different perspectives because all the speakers were contractors and owners.
Professionals working on the development and permitting of coastal projects often do not get to experience the construction of their projects, or more importantly, to receive the benefits of lessons learned by the contractor. The realities of construction projects are often different from the documents and drawings that are produced and reviewed by agency officials. Without the benefit of this knowledge, lessons learned cannot be applied to future projects.
This EBC 2nd Annual Coastal Construction program will again bring together contractors and project owners to provide case studies of recent projects. The presenters will provide their insight into how we, as project development and permitting professionals, can take into account the realities of on-site construction operations to improve the design and permitting of future projects.
This Ocean and Coastal Resources program will provide an invaluable resource for coastal development consultants and agency permit reviewers to learn from “real-world” experiences.
