Join the EBC New Hampshire Chapter and EBC Climate Change and Air Committee for a discussion and case study examples on designing for sea level rise. This will include a presentation with an overview on the current status of sea level rise in comparison with the sea level rise projections. The overview will present new data on sea level rise variation over time with recommendations for selecting appropriate sea level rise allowances for common types of shoreline projects. A municipal seawall replacement project will be reviewed to give insight on stakeholder concerns, development of appropriate design criteria and incorporation of best available science to serve the stakeholder needs. A third presentation featuring a marine contractor will look at a broader range of practical coastal resiliency solutions from building jacking to designing for structure submergence and uplift forces. Designing for sea level rise does not need to be a project killer.
Light breakfast and lunch time snacks will be provided.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (3.0 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.
