Environmental Business Council of New England

This EBC New Hampshire Emerging Contaminants webinar provides an update on the state’s recent progress and continued challenges in the discovery, investigation, and regulation of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the environment. The implementation of new Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) and Ambient Groundwater Quality Standards (AGQS) for drinking water and groundwater, and development of surface water quality standards, continue to be important issues for multiple stakeholders throughout our business, institutional, and residential communities, and for the public generally.

Experts from the private sector and the NHDES will provide timely updates on recent regulatory developments and the NHDES Statewide Assessment of the Occurrence and Sources of PFAS in the Environment, an in-depth evaluation of “the PFAS Lifecycle,” and a toxicological perspective on the development of regulatory standards for PFAS. Case studies of two local communities with groundwater impacts from PFAS due to aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) used in firefighting activities will also be presented.
