A Review of MassDER Program Priorities and Updates for 2023
This EBC Leadership Program will feature Beth Lambert, Director of the Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration, a division of the Department of Fish and Game. Her presentation will focus on DER program priorities and updates, as well as implementation strategies for 2023 and beyond that reflect those issues that are critical to the mission and strategic goals of the Commonwealth.
Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration (DER)
DER’s mission is to restore and protect rivers, wetlands, and watersheds for the benefit of people and the environment. DER works with federal, state, local, NGO, private companies, and other partners to remove dams; restore wetlands on former cranberry bogs; restore coastal wetlands; and upgrade culverts. DER also builds the capacity of other organizations to lead and support restoration. DER and partners have removed over 60 dams and restored over 4000 acres of wetlands. Find out more.
