EBC Information Technology Committee Meeting: EOEA Plan for GIS Spatial Data Infrastructure – Presentation and Focus Group Discussion
March 13, 2007 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am EDT
This meeting will provide an opportunity for those in EBC member companies responsible for and interested in access to high-quality, current GIS data through the MassGIS program. GIS specialists, project managers and company executives are invited. The MassGIS Office is currently developing a plan for “spatial data infrastructure” in Massachusetts. The environmental business community is an important stakeholder as over 40 EBC members are users of MassGIS data and online mapping services. At this session the MassGIS Office will present a summary of current status and future vision for a number of key data layers including orthophoto imagery (as shown in Google’s “satellite” views of Massachusetts), streets and addresses, parcels and critical infrastructure. After the presentation the MassGIS Office will be soliciting comments and suggestions for future development of GIS data resources in the Commonwealth.
Further information on the strategic planning process is available online.
