This EBC evening program will feature Paul Zofnass, President of the Environmental Financial Consulting Group (EFCG), a firm dedicated to helping the environmental consulting industry become more business and financially efficient at improving global infrastructure and sustainability, while creating greater value and opportunities for their shareholders and employees.
Mr. Zofnass will present his latest observations of key industry trends and his forecast for the environmental engineering and consulting industry. His forecast is based upon data that EFCG receives from their annual survey of the 200 largest environmental and infrastructure consulting firms. The survey (the 27th annual) includes data on financial performance for 2016 and corporate outlooks for 2018 and beyond. It identifies specific sector of strengths and weakness, as well as the key concerns that the leading CEO’s in this industry currently have, and the opportunities that they anticipate in the next few years.
The EFCG surveys provides a unique opportunity to observe the business trends and performance of this industry over the past two decades, as well as some excellent insight into what various size and sectors of firms are expecting over the next few years.
Mr. Zofnass will reflect on shifts in perceived growth and profitability of the various subsectors, including regional differentiation; the consolidation that has been taking place, what is driving it, how it is changing; the increasing role of foreign players as well as increasing foreign opportunities; the enhanced focus on sustainability as an industry driver; new sources of capital available to environmental consulting firms; shifts in perception of and valuation of the industry by both public and private capital markets, and how these shifts affect corporate strategies and competitive positioning; new approaches to managing profitability and measuring overhead, and its impact on enabling firms to improve performance, shareholder value and competitive viability.
