This EBC Energy Resources program will focus on the recently passed Omnibus Energy Legislation that is designed to diversify the state’s energy portfolio by procuring additional clean energy resources to move the Commonwealth closer to its emissions reduction goals under the Global Warming Solutions Act.
The Omnibus Energy Legislation puts the Commonwealth on a path to obtaining a clean energy future by establishing procurement goals for hydropower and wind energy, encouraging municipalities and consumers to increase use of zero emission vehicles, requiring home energy ratings for consumers when purchasing a home, and establishing a taskforce to develop a successor to the MassSave program to increase energy efficiency. The legislation also encourages the development of energy storage technology.
