This EBC Emerging Contaminants webinar will provide a different perspective of the uncertainty of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from the legal side. The regulatory landscape has been evolving to address the presence of PFAS in drinking water. Consequently, public water suppliers and municipalities need to remain vigilant about the possibility of litigation – either as plaintiffs to recover damages to help pay for the massive capital costs for remediation technology, or as defendants in toxic tort class action suits.

Final Agenda – Emerging Contaminants Webinar – PFAS Legal Issues

This EBC webinar will include a discussion on the issues in litigation involving emerging contaminants, regulatory concerns that can impact litigation posture and non-litigation dispute resolution. There will be an introductory presentation on some tools that can be used in PFAS forensics, which can come into play during source identification. The recent pact made between Dupont and Chemours will be discussed with a focus on how this may impact PFAS litigation going forward. The program will also review the state of multi-district PFAS litigation cases and how PFAS issues should be addressed during due diligence. Finally, the program will conclude with the keynote speaker, Robert Bilott, partner in the law firm of Taft Law.

Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) Credit: This webinar has been submitted to the Connecticut LEP Board for 2.5 hours of credit. This webpage will be updated, and registered attendees will be notified, if the course is approved for credit.
