This EBC Connecticut Chapter dam management program will summarize the key points of the new Connecticut dam safety legislation contained in House Bill No. 6441 being voted on this month. The revisions to these dam safety statutes have significant implications to every dam owner. This program will also provide an overview of the current permitting requirements for dam repair and dam removal in Connecticut, and provide an open discussion to further explore how these legislative changes will affect these types of projects in the future including funding opportunities for repairs. General dam safety issues, that every dam owner and operators should know, will be also presented. The program will be rounded out with presentations related to facilities planning for water supply dams and a contractor’s perspective of minimizing risk during construction.
