Environmental Justice has been of increasing focus and presence in environmental decision-making both nationally and in Connecticut. With the passage of the Environmental Justice Cumulative Impacts Siting Bill in June, the consideration of already existing environmental challenges faced by environmental justice communities will become a more significant piece of the permitting and siting process throughout Connecticut.
This webinar will provide a brief introduction of environmental justice concepts, cover the current state of environmental justice in Connecticut, including a discussion of current policy and enforcement implementation, and give insight into the pending regulatory process to implement the latest additions to Connecticut’s environmental justice statute.
A robust panel discussing the role of environmental justice in business operations, development opportunities, land use, and permitting with the audience will conclude the webinar.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
