This year, the 7th Annual EBC Connecticut Solid Waste Management Program Update includes presentations from public and private sector solid waste and recycling industry professionals on a variety of topics. The session will kick-off with a presentation on the logistical issues related to hauling commercial organics followed by a presentation on the current and recent changes in the recycling markets. After a short networking break the session will resume with a presentation on the Urban Mining MRF Glass Processing Facility currently under construction in the state followed by a presentation from CTDEEP on their latest initiative: the Connecticut Coalition for Sustainable Materials Management. Lastly, the program portion of the event will conclude with a presentation on the status of the Connecticut Solid Waste System Waste-to-Energy Project in Hartford and the future of its operations.
This EBC Connecticut Solid Waste program will conclude with a moderated panel discussion that will focus on the Solid Waste Management Issues facing Connecticut, specifically, the impact the closure of the CSWS WTE facility will have on the system.
This year the program will be in Zoom webinar format, so attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance to the program chair, Jeff Martirano ([email protected]) for the panelists in this program.
Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Please send an email to EBC staff ([email protected]) following the conclusion of the program to receive a certificate.
