The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4 General Permit) became effective July 1, 2017. Municipalities covered under this permit are well into the second year of the permit, and planning for the third year, when the most resource-intensive efforts are required to meet the outfall sampling and screening requirements.

This EBC Connecticut program discusses the Year 2 and 3 requirements and provides an overview of resources available to municipalities and consultants that can help reduce the resource burden. Resources include those available through UCONN’s Center for Land Use Education and Research, and an overview of stormwater utilities in neighboring Massachusetts.

Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.
