EBC Connecticut Chapter – Solid Waste Management in CT- In Transition

What is the current status of waste management practices in Connecticut? Is the industry in sync with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)? What are the long term strategies and disposal options in the mix going forward? Is the volume and composition of the solid waste stream having an impact on decision making?

This EBC Connecticut Chapter Solid Waste Program has assembled Connecticut’s public and private sector solid waste management leaders who will provide a clear understanding of the future direction of solid waste management in Connecticut.

Connecticut DEP, CRRA, Covanta and CRCOG officials and others will discuss the future of Connecticut’s energy from waste facility operations and capacity. The Connecticut DEP will review solid waste program policy direction. Daniel Esty, the new CT DEP Commissioner has been invited to participate.
