EBC Connecticut Chapter Breakfast Meeting – CT DEP’s New Reasonable Confidence Protocols (RCPs)
May 2, 2007 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am EDT
The Reasonable Confidence Protocols (RCPs) are enhanced QA/QC procedures developed by the CT DEP for analytical methods and reporting. The RCPs recommend method-specific performance criteria and recommend methods for reporting QA/QC data. The RCPs and the QA/QC initiative apply to data generated and reported by analytical laboratories that is intended for use in environmental projects. Communication between the environmental professional and the laboratory is recognized as an important component of the success of the enhanced QA/QC procedures.
The DEP QA/QC Work Group has developed enhanced laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures for laboratories to provide guidelines for the type of QA/QC documentation that will be expected for analytical laboratory data that is used by environmental professionals.
This EBC Connecticut Chapter morning program will review the new Connecticut DEP RCP guidance, which recommends that environmental professionals request that their laboratory follow the enhanced QA/QC procedures for analytical methods and reporting.
In addition to reviewing the RCPs, this presentation will discuss why they were created, which methods are affected and other important features. You?ll learn about quality assurance principles of accuracy and precision that are used in data usability assessments.
