Join EBC’s fifth in a series of programs on Climate Change Adaptation and Resiliency in the Private Sector. You will learn what large and small businesses are planning, designing and investing in to achieve lower carbon emissions. Business leaders will discuss how climate adaptation plans and actions are being implemented today to reduce future economic losses while increasing their resilience to more frequent and intense precipitation, rising sea levels, floods, droughts, and rising temperatures.
Learn what over 500 small businesses thought when confronted with their increased vulnerability to economic losses due to coastal flooding in the Greater Boston Area. Outreach results will be shared from an award-winning business outreach effort in the summer of 2016 by the Climate Action Business Association (CABA) on the impacts of sea level rise and use of CABA’s Small Business Resilience Guide. A diverse panel of local business leaders have been invited from A Better City, Bank of America, Boston Planning & Development Agency, FM Global, Goulston & Storrs, GZA, Manulife/John Hancock, Schneider Electric, and Tetra Tech to share their perspectives on the business case for investing in resilience and sustainability, emerging policies and practices in resiliency and business opportunities created by the need to address the impacts of climate change, including:
