A Results Oriented Approach to Brownfield Disposition/Redevelopment
Brownfield properties can be excellent opportunities for investment/development – many of these properties offer an ideal confluence of labor, infrastructure, and access. Still understanding the opportunity and the risk remain the keys to successfully developing these properties.
The process of brownfield development has traditionally lacked a comprehensive industry specific, end-user driven analysis through incorporating site selection and business attraction principles.
The focus of this EBC program is to approach brownfield development from a different perspective. What do site selection consultants look for when helping commercial/industrial clients find locations that fit with the users value chain and production strategy? How do economic developers position their properties to attract new industries/end-users? Many brownfield properties provide several of the key attributes that users are looking for including access to transportation networks, skilled labor markets, infrastructure, utilities etc.
Several experts from various backgrounds (consultant, owner, user, state government) will offer their perspectives and present their approaches to site selection/business attraction and it?s intersection with brownfields.
