EBC Briefing: Manomet Biomass Sustainability and Carbon Policy Study

July 13, 2010 @ 7:30 am - 10:30 am

The Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences recently completed an analysis of the potential impact of using wood for energy in Massachusetts where there are several new biomass plants being developed. The study was commissioned by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and its findings are likely to have implications in other states contemplating their own expansion of woody biomass power.
This EBC program will provide the opportunity to hear directly from those at the Manomet Center involved in the development of the six month study and gain a better understanding of the results of the study and the implications of using wood for energy in Massachusetts. Learn why the center felt the findings were broadly oversimplified by some of the news media.
