EBC Breakfast Meeting: Update on Climate Change
June 24, 2009 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am
Update on Climate Change – Understanding the Latest Science and the Implications for Rhode Island and New England
Climate change is an important problem that presents an opportunity for EBC members to work toward solutions as individuals, member companies, and for our clients. One of the major areas continuously being updated is the prediction of sea level rise from climate change, most recently due to ice sheet melting and changes in offshore circulation patterns. Another area is the effect of increasing CO2 levels resulting in ocean acidification, which in turn will affect marine life. How Rhode Island is planning to adapt to these changes is equally important. This breakfast meeting will provide participants with an updated view of the state of the science on climate change, its effects on Rhode Island waters, and how the state is planning to respond.
