This EBC Ascending Professionals Webinar will help introduce new practitioners and professionals to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (“MEPA”) and its recent incorporation of Environmental Justice (“EJ”) principles. This program will teach you about MEPA’s background and purpose, when it applies to projects, and the necessary filings and materials to ensure compliance. It will also cover the new Environmental Justice Protocols, which became effective on January 1, 2022, and the most recent regulatory amendments, which became effective January 6, 2023. These Protocols and regulations created new obligations for Proponents, including additional public involvement and analysis. This program will also explore some of the tools available to you, such as the Environmental Monitor and the EJ Maps Viewer. The MEPA & EJ 101 Webinar will provide perspectives from a variety of MEPA practitioners and technical advisors.
A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (1.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
