Interested in the direction that environmental regulatory enforcement will take in Rhode Island and New England generally?  Hear the latest from Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 1, and other agency and industry representatives at this morning program, featuring presentations on:

  • Overview of RIDEM’s procedures for identifying and taking enforcement actions and USEPA’s role and process supporting and overseeing inspections and enforcement in Region 1
  • RIDEM’s plans for continued use of Notices of Violations (NOVs), Expedited Citation Notices (ECNs) and other resources to achieve regulatory compliance
  • Results and action items coming from RIDEM Compliance and Inspection’s annual report, 2018 Summary of Compliance Assistance, Emergency Response & Enforcement Activities
  • Review of USEPA National Compliance Initiatives and other recent USEPA program updates, USEPA/State enforcement partnerships, and other compliance efforts in Rhode Island
  • Interplay between civil and criminal enforcement in Rhode Island
