For the 9th Annual EBC Connecticut Solid Waste Management Update, presenters from across the public and private solid waste and recycling industries will provide their perspectives on industry trends, challenges, and current state legislation. These presentations will cover the status of where is Connecticut with MSW and implications of PFAS and biosolids management.
Combustion has been the main method of municipal solid waste disposal in Connecticut, however with closing MIRA and overall disposal capacity shortage across the Northeast, where does Connecticut stand with managing waste materials streams including hard to recycle materials and biosolids, and what are potential local solutions to reduce the amount of MSW being exported out of state?
The program will conclude with a moderated panel discussion providing ample opportunity for Q&A among attendees and speakers. Due to the virtual nature of the program, attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance to the program co-chairs, Debra Darby, Tetra Tech ([email protected]) and Jeff Martirano, HDR ([email protected]) for the panelists in this program.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
