New Technologies will play a critical role in ocean and coastal management. This fact has been underscored by the recent release by NSTC Joint Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology on January 26, 2007 of the report Charting the Course for Ocean Science in the United States for the Next Decade – An Ocean Research Priority Plan and Implementation Strategy (PDF). The development of better data collection methods, as well as ways to make these data available to environmental managers and decision makers has become a focal point for public and private investment. This EBC Ocean Management Conference will provide a forum for demonstrating the important link between innovative marine technologies and resource management in the ocean and coastal environment.
Agenda – to be posted
Vendor Fair: This conference will also feature a limited number of tabletop exhibitors featuring companies/organizations that provide innovative marine technologies (equipment, products, services) for collection, processing and dissemination of data collected onshore and offshore.
