The Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) is Rhode Island’s management, planning and regulatory agency responsible for the protection, preservation, development, and where possible, the restoration of the coastal areas of the state.

This EBC Rhode Island Leadership program will provide an overview of the CRMC and its staff, how it operates and renders decisions, various program initiatives, ongoing sponsored coastal zone research, and the unique decision-making process of the Council – which involves the input of public stakeholders.

Topics to be discussed will include:

  • CRMC Regulatory Jurisdiction
  • Composition of the Staff and the Council
  • Shoreline Access
  • Offshore Wind Energy
  • Climate Change and Sea Level Rise
  • Aquaculture in RI Waters
  • Dredging, Harbor, and Marina Management

Following the formal presentations there will be ample opportunity for the audience to ask questions during a moderated discussion.

General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (1.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the program.
